apatite4 adheres to an environmental policy and are committed to achieving the most sustainable designs in each of our projects, as well as minimising the environmental impact of our own office.
There are many different ways to implement sympathetic environmental solutions without compromising on design. As an added bonus, considering some of the following options have the added benefit of saving your business money, too!
- Ventilation and air-conditioning: Use of zonal technology, allowing improved direct control of internal temperature, resulting in reduced CO2 emission, less energy wastage and a resultant reduction to bills;
- Sub-metering: A possible option for companies seeking to specifically identify and manage energy usage;
- Lighting: apatite4 always introduce as much natural light as possible into their designs, but some artificial lighting is inevitable. The installation of high-frequency lighting means farewell to the problems of dimming, flickering and humming that so often accompany traditional fittings and, what’s more, it’s cheaper!
During the design process apatite4 always consider materials with a BREEAM rating (The Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method) and aims to offer clients a choice of furnishings, fixtures, fittings and carpet to include those with a high proportion of recycled content, and non-toxic paint that, quite literally, won’t cost the earth.
